Following My Passion

I get asked all the time, What made you become an Interior Designer? And my answer has always been the same: it’s my passion. Yes, I know, it’s a cliché answer—but honestly, it’s the only answer I have. Without passion, I wouldn’t have left my secure, full-time HR job to dive into the world of interior design.

Before discovering my passion, I wasn’t who I am today. I used to be very introverted, private and kept my circle very small. I was comfortable in my little bubble and had no intention of stepping outside of it. But this career has changed me in so many ways. It’s pushed me to grow, to step out of my comfort zone and to truly find my potential.

I absolutely love what I do. I can’t imagine doing anything else. Every day, I’m fueled by this sense of purpose. And honestly, it’s not just about design—it’s the way this journey has shaped me as a person. It’s taught me resilience, confidence and how to embrace change. Starting my own business was a huge leap of faith, and it was the best decision I ever made. Without my passion for interior design, I couldn’t have the energy or drive to work as hard as I do. It’s what pushes me forward, especially on tough days.

Even during the lowest points in my life, when the path ahead seemed uncertain, my passion for interior design was a constant source of light. It brought me joy when nothing else could and helped me navigate through tough times.

Sometimes, I feel incredibly lucky to have found something I love so deeply. I’m so grateful to be doing what I’m doing. But I also look around and see my friends who are still struggling to find that one thing that excites them. They wake up every day feeling dragged to work, unsure of what truly lights them up—and honestly I feel for them.

To anyone who has a passion but is afraid to follow it, my advice especially to youth is simple: life is too short to ignore what makes you come alive. Not everyone will find success by pursuing their passion, but it’s worth the risk. Even if things don’t work out perfectly, you’ll never regret giving it a shot. The real regret comes from never trying at all.

So, take that chance. Follow your passion. You might find, as I did, that it leads you to places you never imagined. 🤎
